Wolfsburg – The Grizzlys Wolfsburg have won the chase duel in the German Ice Hockey League against champions Eisbären Berlin.
In a spectacular game, the Lower Saxony not only inflicted their first away defeat on the defending champions 5: 4 (1: 1, 2: 2, 1: 1, 1: 0) after extra time, but were also able to equalize three Berlin tours in regular time . In the extra time, Darren Archibald made the decision after 57 seconds.
With four goals (10/13/26/45) the Slovenian striker Miha Verlic led the Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven to a clear 8: 2 (2: 1, 3: 0, 3: 1) against promoted Bietigheim Steelers and thus the eighth win of the season. With the third success in a row, the Nürnberg Ice Tigers have again played closer to the playoff ranks. Against the Iserlohn Roosters, the Franks won 4: 3 (1: 0, 2: 1, 1: 2).
