Five artists will kick things off: on Saturday, Claudia Sommer, Jan Wannemacher and the town band will play street music in the old town.

Wolfratshausen – A special flair should unfold in the old town this Saturday, May 27th: Street musicians will play at various locations. This appointment is the start. In the future, three musicians will turn Marktstraße into an open-air stage every weekend.

Music in the old town: Wolfratshauser street art series starts on Saturday

As reported, the municipal culture manager Andreas Kutter initiated the concert series. “The city should be light and lively,” is his goal. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., musicians will play at Marienplatz, in the inner courtyard of the town hall and at Schwankleck. “In good street music fashion, a hat is available for donations,” announces Kutter. There is no fixed fee for the artists – but if there are no streams of visitors, the City Marketing department will contribute to the musicians’ travel expenses.

A few well-known local heroes have announced themselves for the start: Claudia Sommer from Icking is singing in the city. Driving melodies are provided by Fabio Faganello from Wolfratshausen on his electric guitar. The songs by singer-songwriter Jan Wannemacher from Münsing are more thoughtful. The town band also participates. And culture manager Andreas Kutter will also appear himself – but he hasn’t revealed what exactly he’s planning beforehand.

Street art in Wolfratshausen – new series starts on Saturday

So far, musicians in particular have registered for the coming weekends. As the municipal culture manager announced in an interview with our newspaper, other forms of street art are also possible, such as dance or juggling. Every 30 minutes – as stipulated by the public order office – the musicians either have to take a break or change location. The series should last at least until the end of July, “but that can be expanded”.
