Without a club since leaving Juventus a few days ago, Wojciech Szczesny has decided to retire from professional football with immediate effect! At 34, the Pole has made some prestigious clubs happy in his career, such as Arsenal, AS Roma and Juve. He notably won 3 Italian championships with the Old Lady.

Despite offers, particularly from Saudi Arabia, the Pole will move on to other activities.

In a statement on his Instagram account, the former goalkeeper said: “The end of a journey is a time for reflection and gratitude. There are many people I should thank, but I will personally try to do it with each of them. But to you, the fans, I owe a special thank you for taking this journey with me. For the support and the criticism, for the love and the hate, for being the most beautiful and romantic part of football. Without you, none of this would make sense! Thank you! Now, every story has an end but in life every end is a new beginning. What this new path will bring me only time will tell. But if the last 18 years have taught me anything, it is that nothing is impossible and believe me, I will dream BIG!”.
