Recently retired Wojciech Szczesny commented on the Juventus transfer window in an interview available on YouTube. He also discussed the start of the season.
A few weeks ago, Juventus and Wojciech Szczesny reached an agreement for a contract termination. Some time later, the Polish goalkeeper announced his retirement. However, he does not forget Juventus and recently gave an interview to Luca Toselli, on his YouTube channel. He particularly mentions the transfer window that has been completed. « I was worried at the beginning because the team seemed very short at one point, but I see it well. They did a good job, I didn’t expect such a cheap deal. I expected Koopmeiners, Juve had been talking about him for six months, but then came the various Nico Gonzalez – who for me is a great player and will do very well, Douglas Luiz who came out of nowhere. These are important reinforcements. I am a little surprised by the departures, I didn’t expect a player like Chiesa to leave. I can understand given the contractual situation, but I didn’t expect it. »
He also mentioned the first three games played in Serie A. « I didn’t watch football that much, sometimes in training camp with the team we watched Serie A or the Champions League, but staying at home and watching the game is not my style. Now I’m at home with the little one who wants to watch the games, so when Juventus play, I watch them. In the last three weeks I’ve watched three games: Juve-Como, Verona-Juve and Juve-Roma, and the last one, not even in its entirety because it wasn’t very good. Of course, I follow Juve, just as I follow Arsenal: these two clubs have been part of my footballing history and my life as a man. »
