Woippy. Jean-Marc Huart wants to break the chains of contamination

“91 test sites have been set up in academy establishments since 1is February. Several thousand students and staff have been tested so they can protect, isolate and allow the school to continue. We have reinforced the principles of precaution against variants to block the chains of contamination. Jean-Marc Huart, rector of the Grand Est academic region, rector of the Nancy-Metz academy and chancellor of the universities, enforced the health measures desired by the government and recommended by the health authorities to the letter. But is it enough? Not really in Moselle since the incidence rate is 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Thursday afternoon, the rector went to the Pierre-Mendès-France college in Woippy to assess compliance with the health protocol put in place. Just like that of the testing area, set up within the college. Two alcoves, Tuesday February 9 and Wednesday February 10, then four alcoves Thursday, tested 134 people, students and staff alike. “40% of secondary school students were willing to be tested,” underlines Bénédicte Bianconi, deputy principal of Mendès-France. These measures will soon be reinforced because “saliva tests will gradually arrive in establishments”, reassures Jean-Marc Huart.

In the meantime, the rector invites us to show “serenity and pragmatism”. Not sure that Marie-Hélène Mora and her team were able to remain calm a few days ago, when several school staff had to isolate themselves, affected by the virus or in the event of contact with a person who tested positive …
