“I’m incredibly excited for this possibility to represent the USA in the AmeriCup,” Hsu ⁢said. “It’s an honor to play alongside such talented athletes, and I’m looking forward to competing at the highest level.”

Hsu’s selection ‍is a testament to her remarkable talent. She beat out a number of⁢ WNBA rotation players who were vying for a⁣ spot on the team. Nine other players participated in the developmental camp in Phoenix in November but were ultimately not selected: Shakira ⁤Austin (Washington Mystics), Grace Berger, Rae Burrell (Los Angeles Sparks), Emily Engstler (Mystics), Natasha Howard (Dallas Wings), Taylor Mikesel, Alissa Pili (Minnesota Lynx), Jaylyn Sherrod‌ (New York Liberty), and Sug Sutton (Mystics).

A 5’11” guard, Hsu had a remarkable career at Columbia,⁢ averaging 20.4 points and 7.3 rebounds ⁣in her senior season. She became the first woman ever drafted out of the university after being named Ivy League Player of the Year in 2024.
