Low-cost airline “Wizz Air” (Wizz Air) warned of delays and cancellations of flights to London Luton Airport.
The cause is a technical problem in the UK Air Traffic Control system, the airline said in a statement.
All airlines operating flights on this route on August 28, 2023, and for the next few days will experience schedule changes until the technical issue is resolved.
The airline is working closely with the National Air Traffic Service to minimize changes to its flight schedule.
Wizz Air promises to contact all affected passengers via email and SMS and inform them of the situation. The carrier adds that passengers will be offered an alternative flight or a refund of the ticket amount.
The airline has two flights a day between Sofia and London Luton.
On Sunday, the airline’s flight from Memmingen to Sofia was delayed by more than 6 hours. It was delayed by several hours due to extraordinary technical maintenance of the aircraft, which was subsequently replaced by another one. All affected passengers have been notified of the situation and have been offered food and drink vouchers in the meantime.
