Wizz Air purchases 75 new Airbus aircraft

75 additional A321neo aircraft, most of which are expected to be delivered in 2028/2029. confirms Wizz Air’s ambitious intentions of more than triple the number of aircraft by the end of the decade, to become an airline with 500 aircraft, announced Jožefs Varadi, head of Wizz Air.

Delivery dates for aircraft with right to purchase are subject to an agreement between Wizz Air and Airbus and will be subject to the approval of Wizz Air’s shareholders.

The A321neo aircraft incorporate the latest aviation technologies and are significantly more environmentally friendly with nearly 50% lower noise levels, 20% lower fuel consumption and 50% lower nitrogen oxide emissions, which will allow all company to strengthen its position among the most sustainable low cost airlines companies.

Currently, Wizz Air has 165 ultra-modern and efficient Airbus aircraft in its fleet. “Wizz Air” operates one of the world’s newest short-haul fleets, the company points out.

“Wizz Air” is positioned as one of the European for the fastest growing low cost airlines. In the year ended March 31, 2022, the company carried 27.1 million passengers. The company’s shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange
