Wizkid in Top 50 Songs on Apple Music

Wizkid on Apple Music. With the title “Essence”, the Nigerian singer has just made his entry into the American Top 50 songs on Apple Music.

As the track held 48th place on the Apple Music Song Chart, several stars vibrated to the sound of the Nigerian superstar. These are in particular Kylie Jenner, Kevin Hart, Khloe Kardashian or Malika Haqq.

Ranked among the richest African artists in 2021, Wizkid, from the working-class Ojuelegba neighborhood in Lagos, is Davido’s sworn enemy. He weighs 4 million more than his rival.

CEO of his own label, Starboy, he makes even the biggest music stars in the world dance.

He has established himself brilliantly in Nigeria and is to date the Nigerian artist with the most successful collaborations with international stars.

Wizkid was among two Nigerian artists honored at the 63rd Grammy Awards, traditionally billed as “Music’s Greatest Night,” which took place in Los Angeles on March 15, 2021.

Burna Boy won the category for Best Overall Music Album, while Wizkid took home the award for Best Music Video for his song with Beyoncé, Brown Skin Girl, from the album Lion King: The Gift.

The artist Burna Boy had in particular already been nominated in the same category in 2019 but had lost to the Beninese artist Angelique Kidjo during the awards ceremony in 2020.

A great double victory for the Nigerian artists who dominate the songs in Africa!
