Luk van Mello, the actor best known for his role as Bob Bauterse in Wittekerke, is deceased. He was 69 years old.

Van Mello, who grew up in Geraardsbergen, studied drama at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. He made his debut there on stage at the KVS. In 1976 he moved to the Netherlands and continued his acting career there.
The actor starred in movies and TV series such as Baantjer in Medical Center West. Van Mello was on stage and was a much sought-after voice actor, who lent his deep and lived voice to radio plays and even cartoon characters, such as the pig Hamm in Toy Story.

Luk van Mello could also be seen in Flanders. For several years he played the role of Bob Bauterse in the VTM series Wittekerke. Years ago, Van Mello stopped acting. He died in Amsterdam.
