Homicide at Uelzen train station – police and public prosecutor’s office are looking for a suspected important witness ++
Lüneburg (ots)
The investigation into the violent crime at Uelzen train station on July 14, 2024 is ongoing. There is still strong suspicion against an 18-year-old of having pushed or kicked a 55-year-old down a flight of stairs. The victim died immediately at the scene of the crime from a traumatic brain injury. The accused is still in custody – but as always, it should be pointed out that every accused person is considered innocent until a final conviction is made (so-called presumption of innocence). Extensive investigations have already been carried out and witnesses have been questioned in detail. However, a suspected important witness has not yet been identified and questioned by name. He is said to have been standing on platform 301 of the train station at the time of the crime, wearing a red shirt and calling on other passers-by to apprehend the accused after the crime. The police and public prosecutor’s office urgently request this witness to contact the Uelzen police, Tel.: 0581/930-0.
