On Saturday night, a 41-year-old man from Salzburg tried to break into a snack bar in Schallmoos. The police caught him red-handed after witnesses reported the incident.

In the early hours of Saturday, August 24, 2024, officers on patrol in the Schallmoos district of Salzburg became aware of an argument. Shortly after 2 a.m., they discovered a group of people arguing loudly. Investigations quickly showed that the 41-year-old Salzburg resident wanted to break into the snack bar.
Witnesses confirm the incident
Several witnesses reported to the police that the suspect had broken the window of the snack bar. When the witnesses tried to stop him, the man initially fled. The police found clear evidence of the break-in at the crime scene.
Perpetrator remains silent, report filed
The suspect from Salzburg refused to provide any information about the incident when questioned by officers. The police found various signs of a break-in and referred the case to the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office. The man is now being charged with attempted burglary.
