The line minister, Georgi Gvozdeikov, ordered a full investigation. He defines the situation as unacceptable. According to eyewitnesses, the flight took place on Saturday morning, around 5:20 am.
Witnesses say that the helicopter hovered over the bay for nearly 15 minutes. Passed not only extremely low over people, but also over a boat. Papers with the face of the former ruler of the country – Todor Zhivkov – were thrown out of the machine.
“The helicopter was spinning for 10-15 minutes. Then he left. It was flying very low. There were so many people that everyone was shouting, shouting – madhouse. Some papers were flying, which went into the sea,” said an eyewitness.
“Whoever did this thing should go and collect these materials. Let them think about which responsible institutions to intervene, because this further pollutes the beach”, pointed out the tourist from Sofia, Jacqueline.
People were hanging out of the helicopter doors. A thorough investigation is to be carried out and if violations are found, the revocation of the pilot’s and air operator’s license will be considered.
