Kharkiv could become a second Aleppo if the US does not approve military aid to Ukraine, which would allow it to receive anti-aircraft support to defend against long-range Russian attacks.

He said Russia had changed tactics to try to destroy Kharkiv’s power grid and terrorize its 1.3 million people by shelling residential areas.
Terekhov noted that the US military aid package worth $60 billion, which is currently blocked in Congress, is of “crucial importance for us.”
“We need this support to prevent Kharkiv from becoming a second Aleppo,” Terekhov said, referring to the Syrian city that was heavily bombed by Russian and Syrian government forces 10 years ago.

As reported by Ukrinform, Bloomberg wrote that Russia’s intensification of attacks on Kharkiv is a way to force local residents to evacuate, because currently Moscow does not have enough forces to attack the city to capture it.
