Racing Straburg visits PSG at the end of the year.
“Just because we are not favorites, we are far from beaten,” is the slogan that racing coach Thierry Laurey gives before the Ligue 1 game on Wednesday (9pm) at Paris Saint-Germain. But Laurey also knows, of course, that his team will go into the last game of the year as total outsiders. Especially since the coach continues to have to do without important support from his squad. Matz Sels and Lebo Mothiba have started training, but they are still a long way from being deployed. Bingourou Kamara and Kamine Kong are also out of the question.
However, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel also complains about injury concerns. Nine players are out of his starting lineup, including the Brazilian superstar Neymar. PSG cannot afford a slip-up as third in the table against Racing. The claim of the capital city to view the table from the top is non-negotiable with the owners from Dubai. In this respect, PSG has hardly less pressure than Straburg before this game. Especially since Racing has never won at Parc de Prince in Paris. The expectations of the Straburgers are therefore rather subdued.
