semifinalist contestants Europa League has been obtained. Eintracht Frankfurt advance after ejecting Barcelona. There are also West Ham, Ranger, and Rb Leipzig who advance.
Leipzig became the first participant to be confirmed for the semifinals of the Europa League. The German club won the ticket after beating Atalanta 2-0 at Gewiss Stadium, Friday (15/4/2022) early morning WIB.
A pair of goals from Christopher Nkunku to be decisive. Leipzig went 3-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
The surprise was in the Barcelona vs Frankfurt match at Camp Nou. Blaugrana lost 2-3 in the second leg and made Xavi Hernandez’s team knocked out 3-4 on aggregate from a 1-1 draw in the first meeting.
Frankfurt led 3-0 first through two goals from Filip Kostik and one from Rafael Santos Borre Maury. Barcelona was only able to reduce in injury time through goals from Sergio Busquets and Memphis Depay.
West Ham made it to the semifinals after crushing host Lyon with a score of 3-0 in the second leg. The English club advanced 4-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in the first meeting.
Next Rangers to the semifinals with a match against Braga which lasted for an additional 2×15 minutes. In normal time, Rangers won 2-1 with a pair of Tavernier goals and made it 2-2 on aggregate as Braga won 1-0 in the first meeting.
In extra time, Rangers finished it through Roofe’s goal in the 101st minute. The Scottish club stepped up with a 3-2 aggregate.
Leipzig will meet Rangers in the semifinals. Next up is West Ham United against Frankfurt and there is a potential for the final among German teams.
