Without a driver, Jokowi tested the LRT, which covered 9km in 12 minutes

Jakarta

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) tried Cross Rail Integrated (LRT) Jabodebek. He conveyed his impression of the LRT which is expected to operate next year.

“Yes, we tried the LRT from Harjamukti station to Taman Mini station along 9 kilometers and it took 12 minutes with the train speed 80km/hour. Very fast and without a driver,” Jokowi told the Taman Mini LRT on Monday (11/26/2022).

Jokowi said he was proud of the Jabodebek LRT project, because this transport was manufactured directly by PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA). This train will be driven without a driver.

“What we are happy about, what we are proud of, is that this train is made by INKA, everything is made by INKA, including the driverless system, all by INKA,” said Jokowi.

Jokowi then shared his experience of driving the LRT from Harjamukti, Depok to Taman Mini LRT. The journey is said to have been made comfortably and not noisy.

“I was comfortable, fast and not loud. I think there was very little sound right at the turn,” he said.
