Will Harry Kane decide to be loyal to Tottenham’s childhood club, or will he soon start putting his own career first?
Sitting at the top of the league and ready to chase the title in December, José Mourinho’s team is now down by eight after a streak of miserable results.
And he’s unlikely to improve when he takes on current leaders and title favorites Manchester City on Saturday, despite Mourinho’s record of two wins in two games against Pep Guardiola’s men as Spurs boss.
Saturday’s clash, live on talkSPORT, will have the added flavor of seeing Kane take on the club that has been heavily tied to a move for him, with Guardiola looking for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Allen admits he can see the deal, insisting that Kane, whom he coached during his days at Tottenham’s academy, won’t want to end his career without getting his hands on the best trophies.

And he also admits that he can see what will happen sooner rather than later.
“Harry has been absolutely sensational,” Allen said on talkSPORT’s Weekend Sports Breakfast.

But, I have no doubt that you have had thoughts about it. [leaving].
“He has been fascinated by the club from the first moment he entered when he was 16 years old. I worked with him at that young age, and you could see that he had an incredible appetite and desire to improve himself, to bring out the best in himself, which we have obviously seen him do.
“But I think he will want a race where he has won something.
Simon Jordan says Harry Kane needs to decide on the future, but doubts the clubs are willing to pay the money Tottenham value the star man
“And if you feel that at some point that is not going to happen at Spurs, I think there will come a time, and it will not be very far, when you will have to consider your position at the club.
“Whether the club sells it or not, it would take large sums of money, a record transfer fee, I imagine.
But you have to get to a point where you think about it, I’m sure.
Weekend Sports Breakfast host Tony Cascarino responded, “Do you want to take charge of being one of the best players in the world?
“He’s pretty close right now and the guys in the previous stage, Cristiano Ronaldo at 36, Lionel Messi at 33 and Robert Lewandowski at 32, do you want to enter that place? Do you want to give yourself the opportunity to be the best player in Europe and win the Ballon d’Or?

Kane has been linked to a move away from the Spurs
“I think a lot of Tottenham fans would understand if it were.”
“Yes, I think you’re right,” Allen added.
“The only problem, if there is a problem, is who could pay for it right now? Barcelona has its financial problems, Real Madrid, could it be the team you are going to play for? Would that involve Gareth Bale?
Could you go to Manchester City? They don’t have a center forward …
“Realistically, Manchester City could be one of the only clubs in the world that could pay Harry Kane away from Spurs.”
