Withings is best known for its ScanWatch line of smart watches, but at CES the company delved deeper into the segment of measuring health functions. Withings BeamO is a portable device shaped like a small remote control. It measures temperature, blood oxygenation, records an EKG and also serves as a digital stethoscope, i.e. it listens to your heart, lungs and breathing. The device does have a separate miniature display, but without the mobile app it is half, if not a third, the size. It is in it that you will find out all the results, with all the details that you can quickly share with doctors, for example.

You can read the basic measurement results from the device’s miniature color display, but the measurement history will be saved in the mobile application. In addition, the application alerts you to the time of taking the medicine or you can record initial symptoms in it (such as headache, joint pain or sore throat). The device can detect and warn of arterial fibrillation, heart murmurs, wheezing and low blood oxygenation. BeamO can be shared by up to eight members in the household, as part of the export, the measured data can be shared with doctors via PDF or the Withings WRPM platform.

Withings BeamO lasts up to 8 months on a single charge, you can charge it from zero to a hundred in an hour. It communicates with a smartphone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. In addition, all users of this product will receive unlimited cloud storage for storing health data from this device. The measurement itself should then take place in rest mode while sitting, when the results are most accurate.
The new product from Withings will cost EUR 249.95 in Europe, which is roughly CZK 6,150. And it should hit the market in June. The long delay between the start of sales and the official premiere is caused by the fact that the device does not yet have the necessary certification for the brand to claim that it is a medical device. Withings is thus awaiting CE certification (Europe) and approval by the FDA (USA).
