Within 7 Days, Britain Injected Corona Vaccine to Nearly 140 Thousand People

London

Nearly 140 thousand people on English has received the first injection of the vaccine corona virus (COVID-19) in a week. Britain became the first country in the world to vaccinate Corona with vaccines made by Pfizer and BioNTech.

As reported Reuters, Thursday (17/12/2020), usage Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine for emergency received approval from British regulators since two weeks ago. Corona mass vaccination has been started since December 8, which made the UK as the first country to inject Corona vaccine outside of clinical trials.

“A good start for the vaccination program,” said the junior minister in charge of the UK’s Corona vaccination program, Nadhim Zahawi, in a statement.

“It’s been seven days and we’ve done: England: 108,000, Wales: 7,897, Northern Ireland: 4,000, Scotland: 18,000. The total in England is 137,897,” he said, referring to the number of people injected with the Corona vaccine in various parts of the UK.

“That number will increase because we already operate hundreds of PCNs (primary care networks),” added Zahawi.

Each person is required to receive two doses of Corona vaccine injection within 21 days. Those who have just received the first dose are not yet fully protected from Corona.

The first batch of Corona vaccine received by the UK consisted of 800,000 doses, which must be stored at minus 70 degrees Celsius or lower, and can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 days after thawing.

In all, the UK ordered 40 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine. Health Secretary Matt Hancock expects millions of vaccine doses to be received by the end of this year.
