Ethylene oxide in various products sold on the market, the Ministry of Health obliges the withdrawal in order not to cause damage to people’s health.
The alert for the presence of ethylene oxide in food products, and beyond, continues. About 200 articles were reported and the Ministry of Health decreed their immediate withdrawal. The health of citizens is at risk as contamination with ethylene oxide could create serious reactions.

What is ethylene oxide: risks and dangers
Ethylene oxide it is a gas which is used in hospitals as it allows to effectively sterilize medical and surgical aids. We are talking about catheters, tubes and everything that cannot be put in the autoclave for sterilization. Other recent withdrawals due to ethylene oxide
The presence of gas in locust bean gum caused the withdrawal from the market of Carrefour Veg vegetable cooking cream 200 ml of lot number 21090. This cream and the OraSì vegetable drinks were packaged in the Unigrà Srl factory in Conselice, near Ravenna.
Coop, then, was forced to withdraw from the shelves a BeneSì vegetable preparation given the presence of gas above the limit. The collection did not involve all the stores and provided a toll-free number to contact for information (800 805580).
