Today, Sunday, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Ahmed Gamal Farghali to three years in prison, accused of reckless driving on the Suez road.

The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized drugs, the definitive cancellation of the driver’s license and a fine of 50,000 pounds.

The Prosecutor had ordered that the referral of the accused, Ahmed Gamal Farghali, a 47-year-old university employee, to the competent criminal court be punished for what he was accused of possessing with the intent of using drugs in cases other than those authorized by law, and for driving a car under the influence of these drugs recklessly and without caution on the Cairo-Suez road.

The Prosecutor had ascertained evidence before the accused from what was seen by video clips monitored on social media, which recorded the accused driving his car on the public road recklessly and without caution, endangering people’s lives, and what was demonstrated in the report of the chemical laboratory that the seizures found in the possession of the accused contained narcotic jewels, and what proved drugs seized in his possession, in addition to what witnessed by witnesses.

The details of the incident date back to when the security services managed to arrest a person for reckless driving in one of the Cairo junctions, which led to the disruption of traffic, endangering his safety and that of others, especially for the use of the drug Ice – an unknown drug) and legal measures were taken and the Public Prosecutor’s Office took over the investigation.
