The particularity of Alianza Lima in this 2021 occurred at the beginning of the year. Peru’s most popular team prepared to play Liga 2 (second division) after being relegated at the end of 2020. But after a claim to CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled in their favor, with immediate effect, and the Blue and Whites kept the category.
Last week Phase 1 ended in Group B. They finished in third position with 16 points, with four wins, 4 draws and only one loss. It was the team that received the fewest goals in the nine dates that were played. He has important names in the team such as Jefferson Farfán, Hernán Barcos and now he wants to hire former River and Universidad Católica de Chile, Diego Buonanote.
“The balance was good. It was difficult for us at the start until the team found the necessary rhythm to be well and go through the games. We lacked to get other wins at the start, but the team closed well because we got 10 points out of 12 “, Bustos told Peruvian media.
Now, Federico Zurbriggen must “tune” his players for two competitions. Phase 2 of League 1 and for the Bicentennial Cup (similar to the Argentine Cup). Alianza starts from the round of 32 and there it will face the one located in sixth place in League 2.
