Twistringen clubs and institutions around the Kurt cultural association have come together for a children’s summer festival. They have two well-known figures in the program.

Twistringen – World Children’s Day on September 20th focuses on the youngest members of society. The event will also be celebrated in Twistringen with the Children’s Summer Festival – two days late, but with even more attractions. On Sunday, September 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Kurt Cultural Association, together with local clubs and institutions, is holding the third edition of the popular children’s fair at the Hildegard-von-Bingen Gymnasium.

Children’s Summer Festival Twistringen: Program on two stages

The organizing team spent almost a year planning the event, explains Kurt Chairwoman Sabine Nölker. The result is a “colorful program” in which many actors from Twistringen’s club landscape provide attractions. They do this on the two event stages, among other things – one is in the high school auditorium on this day, the other in a circus tent specially set up for the festival in the school yard.

Twistringen’s mayor Jens Bley will open the stage at 11 a.m. with an opening speech, followed by a performance by the Abbenhausen and Twistringen marching bands. Bley is the patron of the event and praises the commitment of the numerous volunteers.

This also includes the members of TV Heiligenloh who are involved. They will show a cross-section of their Taekwondo training on stage. SC Twistringen (Jiu-Jitsu and archery), SV Mörsen-Scharrendorf (dance and gymnastics performance) and the Tanz-Art dance school will also be putting on sporting performances. Storyteller Brigitta Wortmann, magician Sönke Ruge and clown Tasso will also be taking to the stage at the children’s summer festival.

Celebrities at the festival: The Voice semi-finalist and Youtuber

The semi-finalist of “The Voice of Germany” Naomi Mbiyeya is planning “something really great,” announces Nölker. On the belatedly celebrated World Children’s Day, the singer is offering a drumming course. “I want to introduce the children to music and rhythm,” she explains. The nationally known Twistringer is also once again proving her singing talent. She sings children’s songs on stage. “I still have to ask my little cousin which ones are trendy,” she says and laughs.

According to the organizers, influencer Marvin Vlogt is also popular with children. The YouTuber, who has around 500,000 subscribers, is also coming to the festival on September 22nd. “The little footballers from Twistringen all know him,” says Nölker.

In addition to the stage program, there are other attractions. According to the organization team, the young guests can let off steam with bull riding, bungee jumping stations, a children’s carousel, soccer mini golf, a 17-meter-long obstacle course and bouncy castles. One of the bouncy castles is set up by the local youth fire brigade – not surprisingly in the look of a fire engine. “It’s an eye-catcher,” says Nölker. The police have a real emergency vehicle on display on the school grounds. The local DLRG, the DRK and the THW are also present. Balloon and tattoo artists round off the offer, along with the opportunity to have children face painted, a photo booth and various craft activities.

Children’s Summer Festival Twistringen: Entrance fee is three euros

During the event, Kurt Brunkhorst from the Kurt Association will walk around the area as moderator and introduce the participants. He will also talk about the culinary offerings. It ranges from coffee and cake to bratwurst, chips and ice cream.

The organizers emphasize that the prices are family-friendly. It is not about making money. That is why they believe that the entrance fee is quite low at three euros per guest. Children in their first year of life do not have to pay an entrance fee. The event costs Kurt, as the organizing club, around 13,000 euros. It is subsidized by the Kreissparkasse Diepholz, which will be on site with a stand as the main sponsor.

tickets

Tickets are now available for presale at the branches of the Kreissparkasse and Volksbank as well as at the Dauelsberg stationery store.

Those responsible are hoping for a similarly large turnout as at the 2022 Children’s Summer Festival. Back then, around 1,300 people attended the festival. Many of them came to Twistringen from outside.
