Bembrive lives from this Thursday one of its most emblematic festivals, the popular Saint Blaise that this yearrecover musical performances although still without furanchos due to the restrictions still in place. The day began at 11 a.m. with the Beade bugle band and at 12:30 p.m. the High Mass was sung by the San Roque polyphonic choir, which will be followed by the procession.

This year, instead of bread and votive offerings, which are very traditional in this festival, the procession’s itinerary was decorated with a protest poster, “RIP Rural” or “Vial non” with direct messages to the mayor.
As a representative of the local government, only the councilor for Festas Especiais, Ángel Rivas, attended, who, due to the lack of devotees, had to lend a hand carrying Santiago, Matamoros.
There was a greater representation of the Popular Party with the delegate of the Xunta, Marta Fernández Tapias and councilors Teresa Egerique and Jesús Marco, who carried one of the banners. The former mayor Manuel Pérez was also seen. After the procession, the activity moved to the tent in front of the Helios recreation center, the only place where food is served.
