With three per thousand in their blood: Ukrainians sunk 40-tonne trucks in the forest | Regional

Bad Rappenau – There was a truck driver completely blue and confused!

The mission for which a rescue service from Öhringen was informed about the truck service on Wednesday afternoon could hardly have been more curious: a Ukrainian had loaded parcels at the Hermes logistics center in Fürfeld at around 6.30 a.m. and wanted to take the motorway towards Mannheim.

Instead of leaving the Buchäckerring in the direction of the feeder, he drove his 40-ton truck in the opposite direction, followed a farm road for several hundred meters before getting stuck in the softened ground in the middle of the Steinbachwald on Treschkling.

Allegedly misdirected by the navigation system, the officers also found the 45-year-old truck driver to have a breath alcohol level of around three per mille.

During the day, a rescue company was entrusted with the tricky rescue mission via the Austrian holding company. Since the truck was only a few meters parallel to the motorway, two large recovery cranes were positioned on the A6. For this, the right and middle lanes of the federal motorway had to be closed. The single-lane traffic jam was over eight kilometers long and quickly reached as far as Heilbronn / Untereisesheim.

After an hour of millimeter work, the tractor-trailer was hovering on the towing company’s ropes and was able to land on its actual destination – the motorway – a short time later.

A spokesman for the Heilbronn police told a telephone request that measures are now being taken against the truck driver.
