This May 17, the Lucho Gatica Regional Theater in Rancagua hosts the play “SOS Mamis” starring Loreto Aravena (Luna), Jenny Cavallo (Clarita), Paz Bascuñán (Trini) and Tamara Acosta (Milagros), renowned actresses who They shine in this theatrical proposal about parenting, motherhood and friendship.
In this comedy, directed by Alexis Moreno, the stories of four women who meet as school administrators are told, who forge a particular friendship during the pandemic, an occasion in which they experience fun everyday life situations full of humor in around their personalities; the religious mother, the clueless one, the alpha mom and the mystical one. In the midst of this chaos caused by confinement, the lives of these mothers come together in a whirlwind of emotions and new situations that constantly challenge their relationship.
In this way, the play on stage addresses themes such as parenting, motherhood and friendship in the midst of a confinement that tests the relationship between mothers.
The actress Loreto Aravena, who plays Luna, commented that “this work is about four mothers who face the challenge of being disconnected from their cell phones, to live a moment of friendship, yoga, retreat, but nothing works as they expect. , they talk about different topics, sex, couples, menstruation, children, friendship, parenting, so everyone is invited to see it, you are going to laugh a lot.”

“SOS Mamis” is a high-impact pandemic project that emerged as a web series, and later became a book and film, and it has been such a success that the second season will premiere during the second half of the year on Amazon Prime Video. Likewise, the experiences of these four friends are closely followed by the special community formed on Instagram, where they already have 150 thousand followers.
During the play, attendees will be able to appreciate the new adventures of these intense, complex, fun and, above all, hard-working mothers who arrive at a dream place with the aim of achieving a digital detox. However, this relaxing experience to de-stress little by little becomes a feat to escape from a confinement that tests their friendship, but above all, the patience of each one.
This is how the actress Jenny Carvallo, who plays Clarita in the staging, comments: “the work focuses on mothers, it is because the nature of the Mamis project, it already has series, books, movies, it is the mothers in parenting time, it is the Whatsapp where thousands of things are constantly talked about, it is the women and mothers who accompany each other in this situation, in addition, we who participate are mothers and we live all those things on a daily basis.”
The staging has had great success in its first performances in Talca, Chillán and Curicó.
