WITH THE “YOUNG HEIRS OF THE COUNTRYSIDE” PROGRAM, SADER JALISCO PROMOTES YOUTH AND WOMEN WITH 10 MDP

To exploit the productive potential of young people and women in the countryside of Jalisco, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER Jalisco) has launched the “Young Heirs of the Countryside” program which, in the year 2022, has 10 million of pesos assigned to 105 production projects in all regions of the state.

This program is of great importance for influencing new rural generations, such as young people, and also for stimulating the leadership role of women in rural communities, said Juan Gerardo Ruiz Delgado, Director General of Rural Development.

Among the projects supported are: livestock farms, butchers, beekeeping companies, dairy production, bakeries, small restaurants, acquisition of plant material and promotion of commercial orchards, among other actions. For example, Jorge Cortés, a young man from the municipality of Ciudad Guzmán, will acquire a turbine to mechanize the fumigation and fertilization activities of a peach orchard.

For his part, Javier Padilla will assign his support to the purchase of supplies in a cattle and goat farm in La Barca. In the same municipality, María Elena Rivas will install a bakery in which she will be able to create at least two jobs. In her turn, Karen Cabrera, from Teocuitatlán de Corona, will renew her taqueria with the support obtained.

According to its call, this program indicates that it will benefit from financial support according to the following components:

  • For young people between 19 and 35, with an entrepreneurship and added value project, for an amount up to $ 200,000.00 pesos.
