Writer Ibrahim Issa published a page from the script of his controversial film “The Atheist,” including details of a conversation between the three main characters: Ahmed Hatem, Mahmoud Hamida, and Sabreen. In his post, Issa did not address the criticism directed at the film or the lawsuits calling for it to be stopped.

Through the picture shared by Issa on Instagram, it seems that the son (Ahmed Hatem) is facing a religious conflict due to his father’s terrorism, and he is trying to escape from this situation, but he is afraid about his death threats. In the middle of this conflict, his mother tries to convince him to lie to his father, even if he is not sure about his views, in order to preserve his life.

Ibrahim Issa did not comment on the picture, or explain the reason for releasing part of the script at this time, since the film was to be shown to the public tomorrow, the fourteenth of August, but the date postponed due to the delay in the editing and mixing processes, according to what the representative of the work, Ahmed Al-Sabki, He confirmed that it will be shown within the next two weeks, with frequent reports that the film is banned, but no official decision has been made. not yet published.

The film “The Atheist” is facing a widespread criticism campaign on social media, with many accusing it of promoting disbelief and atheism, based on its name and author, Ibrahim Issa, who has always criticized for his liberal views. The film was supposed to be shown more than two years ago, but it was postponed for censorship reasons, and after making changes to the original text, it got permission from the censor board to be shown to the public under a classification of more than six – eleven. years.

It should be noted that Councilor Mortada Mansour filed a lawsuit with several lawyers demanding that the film be stopped, accusing those in charge of trying to introduce opposing ideas that could harm religious beliefs in Egyptian society.
