With the night train directly from Salzburg to Paris

In cooperation with SNCF and DB, ÖBB will travel three times a week with the Nightjet from Vienna to Paris from December 13, 2021. Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday there is a direct route from Vienna Central Station via St. Pölten, Linz, Salzburg and Munich to Strasbourg and Paris Gare de l’Est. Departure from Vienna is at 7:40 p.m., arrival in Paris the next day at 9:42 a.m. The connection from Paris to Vienna is offered every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

In future, travelers will return to the French metropolis overnight in a climate-friendly and safe manner. Tickets are available from September 28th on nightjet.com and oui.sncf and from the German booking start on October 13th on bahn.de.

  • Departure Salzburg Hbf: (Mon, Thu, Sat) at 10:18 p.m. – Arrival Paris Est at 9:42 a.m. the following morning
  • Departure Paris Est (Tue, Fri, Sun) at 7:58 p.m. – Arrival Salzburg Hbf at 7:26 a.m. the following morning

First new night train line

This connection is – together with the Nightjet connection Zurich-Amsterdam, which will also start in December – the first new night train line that the European rail companies ÖBB, DB, SNCF and SBB agreed on at the end of 2020 to make a further contribution to the expansion of the the European night train network.

Only with additional direct connections can we get even more people to switch to the train. A trip with the Nightjet not only protects the environment, but also offers a special travel experience. Because nothing is as relaxing as arriving at your desired destination in the center of the city in the morning. I am delighted that we can do this in Paris from December on, ”said ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä.

Separate compartment for more privacy

Until further notice, single seats can be booked in the ÖBB Nightjets in the seating car, couchette car or sleeping car. In addition, the compartments in the three comfort categories can also be booked as a separate (private) compartment.

Tickets for Nightjet connections are available in the seated car from 29.90 euros per person and direction, in the couchette car from 59.90 euros and in the sleeping car from 89.90 euros.
