Thanks to films like “BlacKkKlansman”, “Malcolm & Marie” and “Tenet”, John David Washington is one of the stars of the hour, and especially the latest masterpiece by Christopher Nolan should have helped to make his face and name known.

It even goes so far that in the trailer for the new conspiracy thriller “Beckett”, Neflix not only prominently stages Washington, but also even the music in the trailer sounds damned like Ludwig Göransson’s driving “tenet” score.

In “Beckett” an American of the same name, played by Washington, is on vacation in Greece with his girlfriend April (Alicia Vikander). But after an accident it suddenly disappeared without a trace – and Beckett’s life is also in danger because he and April have apparently seen something they shouldn’t and are now being chased by the police. With the help of Lena (Vicky Krieps) he tries to get to the American embassy in Athens, but is he really safe there? And what happened to April?
