Sharper back
We slept in Olomouc, recharged the car and drove back. Now we are not interested in consumption, but we are a little sorry that we did not try more twisted districts. That is why we go in the direction of Litomyšl, but then we turn onto the well-known roads around Polička and Hlinsko, until we get back to Průhonice via Humpolec. Now it’s 280 km, but we don’t take napkins. We send Megane into sports mode with the button on the steering wheel.
On small roads, relatively sharp steering comes in handy, which gives the car a sporty feel. Of course, it is not possible to expect excessive communication between the front wheels and the driver, but a direct reaction to the slightest steering wheel adds to the driving experience. The fact that the only 11 cm high battery under the floor creates a relatively low center of gravity also helps the car. No, it’s not a sports car, rather a very fast and agile car, which is quite fun even in the districts. As they say: it pulls nicely. We also appreciate the fact that Renault did not try to replace the sound of the internal combustion engine with some artificial fabric. We just hear the faint whistling of an electric motor and the whistling of flowing air. It belongs to an electric car.
We drive to Prague, we drove briskly through the districts and on the highway at least the permitted limit. And again completely without a stop. The result is a remaining capacity of 18 percent and an average consumption of 15.8 kWh. That would take us one kilometer to the crown and 10 pennies to that. Even so, the Renault Megane E-Tech is one of the most fuel-efficient electric cars we have ever driven. And that pushes him among the few cars in the outlet that are already usable today for normal driving not only in the city, but also over long distances. For example from Prague to Olomouc and back as we went.
