That’s right, in the midst of a pandemic and under strict protocols that were followed to the letter, Zendaya and John David Washington secretly filmed a movie. Both the name and the story to be told have already been revealed, but also all the steps that the members of the production had to follow to be able to record this project in just two weeks, interesting and risky.
They are a large number of productions for film and television that had to be paused in order to calm the rapid spread of the pandemic. In addition to this, the release date of various productions had to be changed when movie theaters could not reopen their doors, just like ‘Tenet’, Nolan’s movie where Washington is the protagonist.
Zendaya and John David Washington secretly filmed a movie, all thanks to Sam Levinson, creator of the hit series ‘Euphoria’, who managed to successfully complete the film. ‘Malcolm & Marie’ which was recorded between June 17 and July 2 at the House Caterpillar, a stupendous environmentally conscious glass house in Carmel, California.
Although the data available so far is minimal, Deadline explains that it would be a story about a couple similar to Netflix’s ‘Marriage Story’. But they will also address social issues that are being talked about so much today, plus director Ashley’s wife, Zendaya, Washington, as well as producer Kevin Turen funded the film.

Both Turen and Levinson’s wife sought support from doctors, attorneys, WGA (Writers Guild of America), DGA (Guild of Directors) and SAG (Guild of Actors) in order to comply with the necessary protocol so as not to put anyone on risk. And without a doubt the location plays a fundamental role since this LEED Platinum house uses very little air conditioning. The entire team lived in separate locations and the meetings were socially distant and the actors rehearsed in a parking lot before they could record.
And if you think that only that was done to protect the team, you are wrong, in fact the list is huge, but to mention outstanding data we will tell you that there was no food prepared on set, everything was brought to their rooms, there were times for areas common, physical contact was prohibited. Nails should be short, the temperature was taken daily before and after work, in addition to the COVID-19 tests being conducted before and after the quarantine ended. Besides that there had to be only twelve people on the set at a time.
