With sanctions against Russia, Europe could commit economic suicide –

/ world today news/ With the introduction of sanctions against Russia, Europe may commit economic suicide. This was claimed in a TV interview by Sergey Glaziev – adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The EU’s losses in the event that economic and financial sanctions are applied against Russia will be enormous,” Glaziev believes:

“The big question is who are these sanctions aimed at in terms of inflicting maximum damage. If the Americans try to implement a model applied to Iran, which means the practical exclusion of Russia from the world financial system in its part in dollars and euros , according to our estimates, the losses for the EU could reach one trillion euros. If they block our payments, the European banks will suffer. So the sanctions for Europe are tantamount to economic suicide and European business understands this very well.”

The economist predicts that Germany will suffer the biggest losses – at least 200 billion euros, but there will also be a strong side effect on the economies of Ukraine and the Baltic States. According to Glaziev, in parallel with the intention to punish Russia, the USA can also pursue another goal – destabilization of the European financial system, and this, according to him, is already a big geopolitical game on the brink of a world war, BNR reported.
