With more than 400 multidisciplinary activities, the tenth edition of the State of Mexico International Book Fair (FILEM) 2024 opened its doors at the Convention Center in the city of Toluca.
This Saturday, October 5, at 11:00 a.m., will be the official opening, which on this occasion will bring together important publishing labels and people from the literary world who seek the same goal: to strengthen the habit of reading.
This cultural festival will take place from October 4 to 12 at the Convention Center of the State of Mexico, located at Bulevar Miguel Alemán Valdés #175, in Toluca, visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. free admission.
In this space, the Government of the State of Mexico, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will award the FILEM 2024 prize to Alberto Chimal from Mexico, an outstanding exponent of Ibero-American fantastic literature, and tribute will be paid to the Economic Culture Fund for its 90th anniversary. .
This Friday, the first day of activities, book presentations took place in its different forums under the seal of the State of Mexico Editorial Fund (FOEM), workshops for children such as film analysis: science fiction and fantasy, presentations of books ‘Thank you!’ and ‘2024: Year of the Bicentennial of the Erection of the State of Mexico’, as well as activities carried out by reading room mediators.
Likewise, they inaugurated the pictorial exhibition by Mexican artist Manuel Barranco ‘Mute Witnesses’, which offers an immersion into the world of watercolor through the representation of emblematic buildings that emerge to dialogue with them and the collective imagination of the city.
