There are currently four names on the list.
A Dimensity 9000 Taiwanese MediaTek chipset is the first true flagship processor for smartphones and is expected to rely on a wide range of high-end devices next year. When the chip was unveiled, MediaTek said the devices containing the first chip will arrive in the first quarter of 2022. It has now also released details of which manufacturers have signed up to use the Dimensity 9000.
There are currently four names on the list, and since MediaTek says the Dimensity 9000 would initially be the most relevant to the Chinese market, several of the manufacturers do not currently have a large international presence. However, one is different and that is Oppo. According to the company, “the next Find X will be the first to be launched with the Dimensity 9,000 flagship platform.”
“What makes this interesting is we’re pretty sure the next flagship for Find X will be the Find X4. Oppo has already said that at least one of the Find X4 phones will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor… Find X4 Dimensity Devices with 9,000 chips may be available mainly in key markets in Asia, “writes DigitalTrends
So Oppo will definitely have a Find X4 model with one of the latest, best mobile processors, and at least one member of the lineup will use the new MariSilicon X Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to support the artificial intelligence used in the camera.
The Oppot is followed by Honor, which was recently revived after being sold by Huawei. Some devices already use MediaTek processors. The company said, “We are deepening our partnership with MediaTek to create even more innovative experiences for our fans.”
The other two MediaTek companies are Vivo and Redmi. Redmi, Xiaomi’s spinoff brand, has revealed that it will use the Dimensity 9000 in one of the unreleased Redmi K50 smartphone series devices, and that it has tested the new chip in collaboration with MediaTek. Eventually, Vivo will launch a Dimensity 9000 smartphone in 2022, but it didn’t say when and didn’t reveal the name of the device either.
MediaTek is working with a number of other vendors, including OnePlus, Motorola and Samsung, so additional names are expected to be added to the list in the future, for either the Dimensity 9000 or any of the series’s future chips.
