Aprons, Van’s with tattooed feet and arms… The look of the waiters has taken on quite a facelift at the New-York brasserie – one of the oldest in Bordeaux – renamed New-York New-York since its official reopening , in September 2021.
And that was the intention of Stéphane, the new owner of the establishment. Not content with having completely redecorated “this big baby”, as he affectionately nicknamed this 18th century building which spans five levels, this original Biarrot has completely reshaped its identity.
A topspin bistro
All the codes of the authentic “bistro” have been preserved: high tables surrounded by brass, large bar where you can sit down for an espresso. But, with the help of the very trendy agence d’archi King-Kong, this century-old address has been brought up to date.
Thus, a terracotta hue and friezes by street artist Madi now adorn the walls. The two lounges, which can be privatized, upstairs, display sober colors, more suited to the business clientele that the establishment welcomes in large numbers.

On the plates, Stéphane has opted for revisited classics of French cuisine. “But not gastro! », Insists the manager of the premises.

On the menu of the day, we find in particular a burrata of Puglia with figs, mint and pine nuts, and a beef tartare with porcini mushrooms and olives, accompanied by house fries. All imagined by a team of young chefs, who have studied in the best restaurants in the city, such as Cent 33 or Mampuku.

To attract a clientele of night owls, this old house open 7 days a week, finally offers a “happy after hour” formula which runs from Thursday to Saturday, from 10 pm to 1 am.
