With great faith, palms and devotion, the Rancagüinos attended the events scheduled for Palm Sunday, a religious event that is celebrated throughout the world, to commemorate the arrival of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem, this being the most important time of the liturgical year. of the Catholic faith in Holy Week.
This Sunday, March 24, the parishioners of Rancagua went to the temples to begin the Holy Week, where the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is commemorated, also when a crowd received him waving palm branches and which he took days before the last Supper.
Palm Sunday is the event that marks the end of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week, a time when the passion, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Christ are celebrated.
Like other temples in the regional capital, in the Rancagua cathedral the liturgical acts began at 10:30 in the morning, this mass being presided over by Monsignor Guillermo Vera Soto, where after the mass the prelate proceeded to bless the palms that the parishioners waved with great faith and enthusiasm.
In the homily, the bishop of Rancagua called on those present to go out in search of the church and participate in the celebration of Holy Week.
“Brothers and sisters, we have hailed Christ with our bouquets and after Mass I will continue to hail him, taking care of my family, taking care of my work, facing life with faith, hope and every day trying to serve the Lord,” said the monsignor.
