BREDA – Breda Barst has started. Alderman Marike de Nobel (Culture) had the honor today to give the starting signal for MiniBarst together with 130 students of the St. Josephschool. And with that, the two-day pop festival in Valkenberg has officially started.

It is an indispensable part of Breda Barst: MiniBarst. For many editions, MiniBarst has been the place to be for families with children who visit the pop festival in Valkenberg. Today at 14:00 MiniBarst started. And at the same time, the entrances of the festival were officially opened for visitors.

St. Josephschool

The volunteers of Breda Barst heard them coming from afar on Friday afternoon: The 130 children of the St. Joseph school. They had the honor of being the first to enjoy the activities of MiniBarst. But not before alderman Marike de Nobel had given the starting signal. The alderman came onto the stage with a long speech under her arms. Together with two students, she rolled out her meters-long ‘speech’. Only two words were written on it in large letters: ‘Have fun’. And the children did not need to be told twice. Full of enthusiasm, the students threw themselves into the many activities that were ready for them.

From juggling to trampoline jumping and from hula hooping to crafting. MiniBarst offers children many different activities, just like every year. And alderman De Nobel is not to be outdone. She happily joins in with the hula hooping on Friday afternoon.

Burst

MiniBarst has been a regular fixture during Breda Barst for years. The organization is increasingly focusing on UitBarsting these days. That is the activity program for teenagers. “Breda Barst is for everyone. But sometimes teenagers fell between the cracks. With UitBarsting we are committed to offering fun activities for everyone. Whatever your age,” according to the organization.

Breda Barst lasts two days. The pop festival in Valkenberg is free of charge.
