Realme entered the subconscious of domestic users last year, when it was the first manufacturer to launch the first 5G smartphone with a price tag of less than five thousand crowns. It was a Realme 8 5G model.

The news with the number nine is a direct successor to this successful series. The scepter of the most affordable 5G smartphone on offer is now being taken over by Realme 9 5G, but this time the manufacturer has chosen a different recipe – it has not limited performance and other parameters. This is officially the most affordable 5G smartphone with the Snapdragon 695 chip in Europe.

This processor has enough power for gaming, in the middle class it boasts the highest clock frequency of 2.2 GHz. The operating memory offers a capacity of 4 GB, the size of the storage space varies depending on the selected version. For 6499 CZK there is a 64GB variant, for 6999 CZK then a 128GB version.

The display offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, making it suitable for gaming, and a diagonal of 6.6 inches. The resolution is then 2412×1080 pixels (Full HD +).

You can choose between the Stargaze White and Meteor Black colors. The back looks very interesting thanks to the wavy holographic design. The phone has 8.5 mm at the waist and weighs 191 grams. Despite its relatively compact dimensions, the device has a 5000mAh battery and offers fast 18W charging.

The main camera on the back offers a resolution of 50 MPx, seconded by two other lenses – a portrait lens with a black and white professional portrait mode and a macro lens. Both offer a resolution of 2 MPx. In front there is a 16MPx front camera.

Better camera, but without 5G
The Realme 9 model, which does not have the 5G designation in the name, is paradoxically more expensive. This is despite the fact that it only boasts 4G connectivity. This model has the top in the used camera. Specifically, a 108Mpx ProLight camera is available, and for the first time ever, we are seeing the new Samsung ISOCELL HM6 image sensor on a mobile phone. In the given price category, the image quality should be above average.

On the back, there is again a holographic design, which, according to the manufacturer, was “inspired by desert light and the impact of the sun’s rays on the phone cover.” The novelty without 5G connectivity is also thinner and lighter, it has only 7.99 mm at the waist and weighs 178 grams. This is due, among other things, to the smaller 6.4-inch display, which offers a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels.

The heart of the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor. Those interested will pay CZK 7,499 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, which applies to all three color variants – Sunburst Gold, Meteor Black and Stargaze White.
