CONVENTION FOR “NEW AGE”, “JIANNENA TORA” AND ASSOCIATES…
The members of the Secretariat of the municipal factions “YANNENA NEW ERA” and “YANNENA TORA” held a joint meeting within the framework of their cooperation in the municipal authority, in the presence of the Mayor Dimitris Papageorgiou, Aris Bartzokas, the municipal groups of the two factions and the municipal councilors Ioannis Aivatidis, Giannoulas Mamaki and Aristidis Pappa.
The aim of the meeting, according to an announcement that was issued, was on the one hand to evaluate the course of the municipal authority so far, and on the other hand to analyze the best practices for continuing cooperation in view of the municipal elections of October 2023.
According to the same announcement, the two factions and the municipal councilors Ioannis Aivatidis, Giannoula Mamaki and Aristides Pappas pledge that they will join a single faction and that they will continue to cooperate in the interests of the city and its residents.
This is the second time that the “Yoannina, New Era” faction has declared its intention to contest the elections, without however mentioning the name of the leader.
The election of Dimitris Papageorgiou to the position of mayor was not accompanied, at least not publicly, by his selection as head of the faction founded by the late M. Elisaf.
Thus, to this day, there is an attempt to form a line-up and a ballot, but it follows an opposite route from the usual one, which says that the line-ups and ballots start with the head-candidate mayor.
The political time until the October elections is not long and any developments on this matter should certainly be known immediately as who will lead such an effort is crucial.
