Ford Motor Company plans to build a $3.5 billion electric car battery plant about 160 kilometers west of Detroit that will employ about 2,500 people.
Plans to build the plant were revealed to the two at a meeting of the Michigan Strategic Fund, which approved a large tax incentive package for the project near Marshall..
The factory will be located on a site ready for industrial development near the intersection of Interstates 94 and 69.
