/ world today news/ A subscription is being organized for citizens’ free access to the “Lozenets” residence. This was stated by the chairman of BSP-Sofia Kaloyan Pargov.
The initiative committee in the “Lozenets” district, supported by the municipal councilor Rumen Georgiev and the candidate for mayor of Sofia Prof. Mihail Mirchev, managed to collect over 150 signatures in just 30 minutes. The signature continues in front of the residence and at other locations in the “Lozenets” area.
According to Pargov, there is nothing to prevent the free access of citizens, as the residence is currently used by outsiders against the appropriate fees for weddings, events or celebrations. “It is not impossible within a regulated period of time – from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with security and surveillance for citizens to freely use this unique garden, as it has not only historical and cultural value, but is also a kind of park art museum” , emphasized Kaloyan Pargov.
He announced that a meeting was also held with the head of the office of the Minister of Defense, where the demands and the signatures collected so far were presented. “They undertook to bring the issue to the attention of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security at the first meeting, which could be this Thursday or at the beginning of September,” Pargov announced and added that there are no legal obstacles to the residence being accessible to people of Sofia.
Residence “Lozenets” is state property, stated the chairman of the BSP-Sofia, but gave as an example the park of the Military Academy, which is also state property, but the park space was opened to citizens some time ago and quite a few cultural events are held there.
