The time has come: the three finalists of the fourth season of ‘Bake off Vlaanderen’ are known. One thing is for sure, after Jaline and Julie it will be a woman who can bake the best again. Jens had to polish the griddle just before the finish.

Alexandra Vandergeeten (30) – Loenhout
Teacher Alexandra crowned herself master baker in the semi-finals, a nice birthday present. With the first assignment – the monochrome dessert plate – she managed to convince guest jury member Peter Goossens with her flavors. With the technical test, the famous croquembouche or soezentoren, its flavors and decoration convinced for a second place.
The spectacle was a pony from three types of bread, including one gluten-free version. Despite the comment that it was perhaps a bit childish, and there was not enough pesto in it, Alexandra still keeps on steaming.
Margo Slenders (29) – Achel
–She has become a master baker several times. But in the semi-final it was a bit disappointing for the cheerful Margo. Her dessert plate was nicely dressed, but the mousse and cake were bland. In addition, the whole seemed glued to the board. However, she pulled it right in the technical test, which she won.
At the spectacle it went wrong again. She made her babushka, or grandmother, from bread. Mostly gluten free. An enormous risk, which did not turn out so well. But her chiburekki – fried dough with minced meat – was “super delicious” and her other bread was also tasted by the jury. So Margo can also go to the final.
Carlota Guerra-Wolfsen (30) – Peer
–Carlota was very open in the semifinals about her depression and burnout. Hence the black color of her dessert plate. Peter Goossens – Carlota did not know him – was not pleased with the view, but retracted his tail: “I was too critical in the beginning. It’s nice what’s in it. I am happy. ”
Her soezentoren was not a high flyer, so she finished last in the technical test. She did convince with her spectacle – a bread sculpture for the healthcare sector. Her kanelbullar had a beautiful drawing and was very tasty. Just like her king’s turban and the heart of bread. A success, so Carlota is in the final.
After the rescue, I still lost weight
Jens Detollenaere (31) was saved halfway through by Anthony when he threatened to lose weight. But just before the final he has to dispose of it. His dessert plate and croquembouche did not appeal. His spectacle is, but in the end it turned out to be too little for that place in the final.
