Although they were down twice on the scoreboard, Querétaro did not give up anything. They tied 2-2 against Mazatlán FC, on their visit to the Kraken stadium, during the nine minutes added by referee Oscar Mejía García, to open matchday 11 of the Liga Mx closer to the playoff positions.
The Roosters did everything in their power to avoid defeat. If Raúl Erasmo Camacho scored a double (17 and 40), with which thousands of people were already celebrating in the final stretch of the match, Lucas Rodríguez (20) and Brian Rubio (90+4) were in charge of vindicating the combative spirit of the visitors.
It was not an easy visit for those led by Mauro Gerk. Especially because the Cañoneros created the best attacking opportunities from the first half. After Camacho’s goals and the experienced vision of coach Víctor Manuel Vucetich, the Sinaloan team handled the final part with more caution, but the added time gave the Gallos one last sign of life.
Rodríguez brought the Queretaro team closer and then Rubio, sweeping into the six-yard box, tied the cards to take his team to 14th place with nine points. The Mazatlans were left with 8 in 15th place.
Xolos defeats the Tuzos
At the Caliente stadium, Tijuana defeated Pachuca 2-1 in a match with an electrifying finish. If there was a common denominator during the 90 minutes it was the constant friction in the midfield.
Both teams were trapped in that fight, until Efraín Álvarez (67) and Emanuel Reynoso (90+4) accelerated the pace in the final stretch. An own goal by Jesús Gómez brought the Tuzos closer (80).
