The Matrouh Criminal Court began the trial session of a Zamalek player in case he was accused of possessing and using the drug hashish.
The session was held after the completion of the settlement file in the murder case, which caused the death of Police Secretary Ahmed Al-Shoubaki on the North Coast Road.

- Ahmed Fattouh’s case began last August, when the player’s car, while driving under the influence of hashish, collided with a police officer, resulting in his death.
- Ahmed Fattouh was arrested and referred to the prosecutors, who then issued a decision to detain him pending an investigation into what happened when he ran over Al-Shabaki with his car while as he was driving quickly and recklessly.
- Investigations revealed that Fattouh was driving at too high a speed under the influence of hashish, not complying with traffic regulations.
- Fattouh was released on September 16 last year from the Marsa Matrouh Police Department, after paying a bail of 50,000 pounds.
- The Matrouh Criminal Court decided to release the player on financial bail, and postponed the hearing of the case until October 22.
- The family of the victim, the widow of the police secretary, in her capacity as guardian of her children, announced that she had dropped the civil suit in the previous session on October 22, after for her to pay the legal blood money, and so i. legal end of the case.
- Arrangements were made in coordination with the prosecution, which dropped the charge of murder against the player.
