ROME (AP) — Federico Chiesa scored his first goal for Juventus in more than a year, and the Bianconeri beat Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza 2-1 on Thursday to reach the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.

Chiesa, who was sidelined for 10 months with a left knee injury suffered last January, received a pass from Brazil’s Alex Sandro before firing from the edge of the box to give La Vecchia Signora the win in the 78th minute.

Moise Kean had given Juve the lead early in the game, with an assist from Weston McKannie, before Mattia Valoti equalized for Monza late in the first half.

In the next stage, Juventus will face Lazio, who earlier beat Bologna 1-0 with a goal from Brazilian Felipe Anderson in the first half.

Likewise, Atalanta thrashed Spezia 5-2 with two goals from Ademola Lookman, one from Hans Hateboer and another from Rasmus Hojlund.

Ampadu scored on his own goal, for the other target for the Bergamo club.

Combined with the 8-2 thrashing of Salernitana in Serie A on Sunday, Atalanta have scored 13 goals in their last two outings.

They will clash in the next phase against defending champions Inter, who beat second division Parma 2-1 last week.
