With a draw, Bravas stops the overwhelming advance of the Tuzas

Pachuca stopped its perfect run in the Liga MX Femenil. In eight previous rounds, it achieved the same number of victories and only allowed three goals. That made the Tuzas, who are leaders of the competition, the favorites in their visit to Ciudad Juárez. What the Hidalgo fans did not count on was the resistance shown by the Bravas to tie 0-0 in the ninth round of the regular phase.

The Tuzos’ attackers could do nothing. Mexican Charlyn Corral led several plays in front of goal, but like her teammate, Nigerian Chinwendu Ihezuo, she crashed into the home team’s defensive wall.

Sensing their rival’s desperation as the minutes ticked by, the Bravas bet everything on the draw. This meant that both their forwards and midfielders supported the defensive tasks, in order to not allow any damage to their goal.

The result brought the border team to 10th place with 11 points while Pachuca, which remains in first place with 25, recorded its first draw so far this season.

America and Chivas play friendlies

In the debut of Mexican coach Efraín Juárez at the helm of Atlético Nacional, América tied 2-2 with its Colombian rival in a friendly match held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The Eagles were far from controlling the match. A goal by Alfredo Morelos, in a quick play headed by Dairon Asprilla, gave the Verdolagas the lead towards the end of the first half (45).

The Colombians, who had Efraín Juárez on the bench for the first time, took back control with a goal from Álvaro Angulo (71), but Rodrigo Aguirre equalized from the penalty spot in the final stretch (82).

In Colima, Guadalajara defeated the Caimanes 3-1 in another practice match due to the Liga MX break for the FIFA date. Forward Ricardo Marín scored a double (15 and 19) while Pável Pérez, in a collective action of several passes, closed the score under the rain.
