Mexico City. América fights to reach the top in the final stretch of the Clausura 2024 tournament and now beat Atlético de San Luis 6-0 on matchday 16, in a duel where the Brazilian Priscila da Silva scored her first double in the Liga Mx Femenil.
With the victory at the Alfonso Lastras stadium, the Águilas jumped to the top positions with 37 points, while Atlético de San Luis has no chance of advancing as it is left with just 10 points and has gone five consecutive games without winning.
The Eagles had no hesitation to deploy their potential in Potosí territory and with just 57 seconds on the clock they reached the nets. Nicki Hernández overflowed the right side to send a cross to Montserrat Saldívar who was in charge of scoring from point-blank range.

Saldívar took advantage of the opponent’s confusion to score his second goal of the afternoon at 18 minutes with a cross shot, while Kimberly Rodríguez made the score 4-0 with a header. The Spanish Irene Guerrero (60) also contributed to the win with a shot inside the area.
Da Silva closed the game with a shot after a one-two play with Miah Zuazua in the 74th, it was the third goal that the Brazilian has scored since she arrived in Mexico just a week ago after having won silver with the green and yellow at Paris 2024.
