Receptions of importance for farmers will begin in November interventions .They are Starting Aid for young farmersStartup help for new ones farmers and Helping the small ones holdings. Experts from the National Agricultural Advisory Service will assist applicants free of charge in the development of projects and their entry via the Internet into the Electronic Services System (ESS).
Stanimir Stefanov from the Plovdiv office of the National Agricultural Advisory Service informed about this during a round table “Challenges to family farming and the development of rural areas in Bulgaria”, which was held on October 10 in the Third Auditorium of the Agrarian University in Plovdiv. The main organizer of the forum was the “Land – source of income” foundation with Prof. Ivan Penov as chairman.
The intervention for young farmers has a budget sufficient to pay for 2,250 approved projects (budget €90,000,000). The aid is significantly larger: the previous 25,000 euros will now be 40,000 euros. They will be paid, as before, in two equal parts, the second being after completion of the performance. The intervention will be open in November 2024 – January 2025.
The requirements for young farmers are to be between the ages of 18 and 40 and to have started farming within the last two years at the latest. The economic size of the farm (standard production volume), which is calculated according to the popular table, should be between 8,000 and 20,000 euros, Stanimir Stefanov reported. He added that there is a requirement for applicants for professional skills and education, but training is also possible after the approval of the project up to the first advance payment of 20,000 euros. In addition, there is a condition that 35% of the subsidy is invested in durable tangible assets. As an example of such, the expert indicated the purchase of equipment or the construction of a greenhouse.
Advantages in the assessment will be the settledness of the young farmer, that is, his investments are where he lives.
The intervention for very small farms promises €20,000 in support, up from €15,000 so far. The budget is 30,000,000 euros. The farm’s standard production volume (SPO) must be between 3,000 and 8,000 euros. There are no age restrictions here, but registration as a farmer is required under Ordinance 3 of 1999. There will be an opportunity to apply during the same period: November-January.
Under this intervention, it is again necessary to invest 35% of the granted amount in durable tangible assets.
Farms with a higher standard production volume are given preference in the assessment. Farmers who are engaged in the production of fruits and vegetables, animal husbandry, essential oil crops will also have more points in the assessment.
The subsidy of the intervention for new farmers is 20,000 euros and the budget is 20 million euros. The SPO of the holding must be over 4,000 euros. Applicants are required to be between the ages of 41-65. They must have started an agricultural activity in the last year.
Individuals, ET, EOOD can apply for assistance. The priority sectors are the same as for very small farmers. It is an advantage when the farm falls in a rural area. The application period is identical – November 2024 – January 2025.
